Notes:

Following the project debrief several new projects have adopted various elements of what I've discussed. The amount adopted depends upon the project team, but correlates with the involvement of their project and/or technical leads with the pilot project.

The results of the first of these are in. Interms of effort, quality and team morale it has proved to to be a significant improvement on the past. And the team – while justly proud of this is very conscious of the room for further improvement.

The first project I described is still running – I've been working with them to regain control of the project, but it is proving difficult to make changes while a project is ongoing.

Most of the "core" of my original team and I have been used to form another – and has catalogued items that have been reused directly from the pilot project, incorporated CruiseControl to the change control process and introduced code reviews.

Note: CruiseControl builds upon the Ant project from Apache by providing a set of tasks to automate the checkout/build/test cycle, and provides a servlet for viewing the status of the current build as well as the results of previous builds.
