Organisational change

Notes:

As we've already mentioned one of the things that happened around this time was a restructuring of the organisation. No doubt there were reasons for this change that were not apparent to us, but as far as changing the software development process was concerned the timing was unfortunate.

For me, it meant that instead of working directly with an individual project throughout it's lifecycle I was repeatedly switched to the project most in trouble. It meant changes to the management of the software development group, and (most importantly) it meant that a management led initiative was started to reform the way that software was being developed. This, together with the human limit to cope with change reduced the effectiveness of my attempts to change things.

OK, what was happening...
